Summary : The deceased was a 15 year old male who crashed and died while driving a stolen vehicle at high speed and being pursued by police.

The inquest focused on the circumstances surrounding the death of the deceased and the actions of the police during the pursuit.

The Deputy State Coroner found the deceased died on 14 April 2011 at Royal Perth Hospital from head injury.  The Deputy State Coroner found death arose by way of Accident.

The Deputy State Coroner found there was no dispute that the actions of the police officers involved and the supervision of the pursuit was in accordance with all relevant, both then and current, Emergency Driving Policies and Guidelines.

There was a broader issue involved from the perspective of the general community which related to tension between relevant law enforcement options and risk taking behaviours of targeted drivers.
