Summary - The deceased was a 64 year old man who died on 22 March 2012 from bronchopneumonia while he was receiving palliative care at Fremantle Hospital.  At the time of his death the deceased was an involuntary patient under the Mental Health Act 1996.

The inquest focused on the care provided to the deceased and the Coroner found that the relevant supervision, treatment and care was exemplary.

The Coroner found the deceased died from bronchopneumonia while receiving palliative care for terminal carcinoma of the rectum. The manner of death was natural causes.
