Witnesses with a hearing impairment
Some court locations are equipped with a hearing aid loop amplifier to assist any hearing-impaired person within each courtroom. The audio system transmits audio directly to hearing aids.
There have been occasions where witnesses who have impaired hearing, have attended court without their hearing aid. If possible, arrangements may be made by the Court to provide such persons with a sound amplification system for use in Court.
Please confirm with the court location you are visiting that this service is available. If confirmed this is available, to obtain and test the system, please attend the Court 30 minutes prior to the hearing and speak with a Court Officer regarding your request.
